There are already so many speculations and unofficial NEWS about the release dates, expected models, prices and specifications of upcoming iPhone 2018 models. According to different sources, it is expected that Apple is going to launch 3 or even 4 new models in 2018 with different new features and different screen sizes.
In this article, we will try to provide fewer but close to “authentic” details of upcoming iPhone 2018 models and their release dates.
What Will be the new iPhone 2018 Models Names
The name of the upcoming models are not yet confirmed but more than 90% chances are there that the successor of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will be called iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus. Whereas the successor of iPhone X will be iPhone XI (iPhone 11).
Here is the confusion, according to some sources, Apple is going to launch two models for the X series and these models will be called iPhone XI and iPhone XI Plus (iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Plus).
But if we go with the Apple’s tradition of 4, 4S, 5, 5S and so on, then it is believed by some iPhone geeks that the successor of iPhone X will be called iPhone XS and there will be a bigger model as well which will be called iPhone XS Plus. While some sources claim that iPhone is going to launch only 1 successor of iPhone X and that will be called iPhone X Plus.
These are the expected names of the upcoming iPhone models. With these models, if you remember that iPhone has launched a smaller but powerful version iPhone SE, it is also believed that iPhone is going to launch iPhone SE 2 as well that will be slightly smaller in the size, though bigger than the previous iPhone SE, but it will be a powerful version of iPhone in low budget.
Release Dates of iPhone 2018 Models
There is no rocket science in predicting the release date of new iPhone models, as per the Apple’s history, iPhone 2018 models will be released in September 2018 and will be available for the customers in October 2018. In 2017 Apple released the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in September and one month later it released the iPhone X.
But that delay of one month was due to the production delay, believed by many iPhone Geeks and according to some internal officials, whereas this time Apple won’t delay the launch of any model and all the models will be released on the same date which is expected to be the second week of September 2018.
iPhone 2018 Models Screen Sizes
We believe that iPhone will launch iPhone XI (iPhone 11) with 5.8 inch OLED screen and its design will be almost same as the iPhone X. iPhone XI Plus or iPhone X Plus will have a screen size of 6.5″ OLED. There will be a 6.1″ LCD model as well that will be slightly cheaper in the price and larger Bazzel.
This model with 6.1″ LCD will have the FaceID but it won’t have twin rear camera lenses and also 3D touch will not be available for this model.
According to DigiTimes, there will be 4 iPhone models in 2018 and these models will have the following screen sizes:
- 5.7 to 5.8in LCD
- 6.0 to 6.1in LCD
- 6.0 to 6.1in OLED
- 6.4 to 6.5in OLED
Expected iPhone 2018 Prices
According to Economic Daily and the KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s claims, iPhone model with the 6.1 Inch LCD screen, will be available in relatively less price. As per our understanding, it will be available in the range of $649 – $749 and it will be a Bazzel free set with a lower pixel density to adjust the low price. Whereas the 6.5″ model with OLED will be available in $999. Remember, these are just assumptions backed by some reliable sources but not confirmed iPhone 2018 prices.
Some iPhone geeks believe that Apple is going to release 4 iPhone models whereas we believe that iPhone will release 3 models in September while the 4th model iPhone SE2 will be released one month or two months later. It is also confirmed by different sources that all the 4 models which will be released during 2018 will have the FaceID feature as it is accepted by many iPhone users.
There is a possibility that iPhone’s latest models will also support the 5G technology as Apple is trying to test it according to Business Insider’s reports. Whether these rumors will be proved true or will remain rumors, you have to wait for few more months to know the factual reports.
